Westlind Engineering delivered a high-impact LED infrastructure installation within Heathrow Terminal 5. The project involved 882 metres of structural steel and 7 custom LED towers — executed within a live aviation environment with zero operational disruption.
Challenge
Operating within one of the UK's most secure and high-traffic environments required precision planning and flawless execution. All works had to be completed within restricted time windows, without interfering with passenger flow, security protocols, or airport operations.
Solution
Westlind deployed a phased installation strategy, coordinating structural and electrical works simultaneously to maximise efficiency. Custom-fabricated steel frameworks were engineered for rapid deployment, while installation teams operated in synchronised shifts to minimise downtime.

The project was delivered in just two weeks with zero operational disruption. All installations were completed on schedule, fully compliant with aviation safety standards, and immediately operational.
